1.) Would you please add starship “XXXXX” from series “XXXXX”?
Currently available is an index of completed ships.
For ships not currently appearing on the site, please use our Request Forum
available via the Contact page.
It would be easier for me to post your requested ship faster if you provide
me with orthographic views of ships or reference material that will enable me to create images of the ship you would like to have posted.
2.) What sources did you used to get your information?
Most of my sources will have links on the Index page. Adding this info is an enormous task
and will be an ongoing process so please be patient. If you have source information that you feel is more accurate please send it to me!
3.) According
to my 'official guide’, starship “XXXXX” should be a this size. Why is yours different?
Many of you have pointed out inconsistencies in the sizes of some ships with respect to ‘official sources’. In all instances I have tried to present the ships in what I believe (or know) was the intended size of the original artist or director.
This may or may not be in line with the information in some of the published official material
available. Case in point: the Death Stars and Super Star Destroyer from the Star
Wars series. I have received many emails referring to the Essential Guide to
Vehicles and Vessels' dimensions. While this is an excellent reference
source, in these two instances I feel that the stated scales are erroneous based
on research done by Dr. Curtis Saxton and several interviews with the original
creators that I have had the chance to read (looking for those sources too!). One example: Refer to page 44 of the Best of the Lucas Films Archives:
"The Imperial Star Destroyer Executor, the flagship of Darth
Vader, was conceived as eleven times the size of the original Star Destroyer of Star
Wars." That would make it 11 times 1.6km, or 17.6km.
4.) How much
time did it take you to make the website?
Hahahahaha too long…
5.) I have
some artwork/reference material that I think you might like to post on your site. Are you interested in seeing it?
YES! Please send me your submissions! I encourage people to submit source material and original drawings. Keep in mind the site has a strict format and submissions may have to be edited or may not even be posted at all. I am interested in receiving
orthographic views of ships or reference material that will enable me to create images of the ship you would like to
have posted. Submissions should be appropriate to the site content.
6.) Will
you be developing a forum?
Yes, it is accessible via the Contact page.
7.) I recognize my picture on your site
and I did not receive any credit for it. Can I get credit?
YES! I have all sorts of images that need credit, so you if recognize something I will happily give
credit to the artist.
