“Outside the ordered universe that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity - the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.”

- H.P. Lovecraft, The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath (1927)

AZATHOTH
Outer God; Supreme Interdimensional Entity

True Name:
Unutterable. To speak the Psionic True Name of this being would destroy the mind of the speaker.

Size:
The size of this entity is literally immeasurable. It is an interdimensional sentient black hole of astronomical proportions.

Description:
This image is of great cosmological significance to the Star Spawn. The great eye is thought to represent AZATHOTH; a massive, sentient black hole that rests atop the aberrant pantheon worshipped by the Star Spawn and other unnamable beings.

The summoning glyphs that surround and are incorporated into the Eye are related to an immensely powerful Psionic chant that is closely associated with a cataclysm that destroyed an entire city in nineteen seventeen. I will not elucidate, nor translate them here.

The more common Chant of Protection that rests outside the Eye is thought to correspond with the Event Horizon of the being; the various lesser characters are thought to represent orbiting Scions.

The significance of the eighth Scion is unclear. A Fibonacci spiral emanates from it, ending on one hand just inside the Event Horizon of the deity, while the other direction appears to depart from the system. It is perhaps this being that affords the Elder Things their connection to our realm, which in turn secures this being’s influence here.

This being represents an incalculable threat to humanity. Direct contact with this being would engender the extinction of all of mankind. DO NOT ATTEMPT CONTACT.
Azathoth
